Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson "gets on" with ex-wife Kate Hudson for the sake of their son.

The rocker - whose six-year marriage to the Hollywood actress ended in divorce in 2007 - insists he and Kate will always put their personal differences behind them to concentrate on four-year-old Ryder.

He said: "Kate and I get along pretty good now. We've got a four-year-old son and his happiness is the most important thing to us."

Chris also revealed he fell head-over-heels in love with 'Almost Famous' star Kate when they first met.

He added to Britain's The Independent newspaper: "In 2000, I fell in love. I had never felt like that before in my life. It kind of took me over."

The former couple moved in together after their first week of dating, and married just eight months later.

Chris filed for divorce in November 2006 citing "irreconcilable differences". It was finalized 11 months later. Soon after their initial separation, Kate was romantically linked to her 'You, Me and Dupree' co-star Owen Wilson, but the pair vehemently denied they got together before Kate's marriage ended.
