Now that she is one of the most eligible bachelorettes in Hollywood, Kate Hudson has some new views on dating.

The single mother, who is in the process of divorcing her husband, rocker Chris Robinson, has revealed that while her divorce was "very hard" she still enjoys the company of her first husband.

She told Harpers Bazaar magazine, "He's my first huge love. I spent seven years with Chris. I was 20 when I met him. We still talk everyday. He still cracks me up and Ryder feels like that."

Since her split with the former Black Crowes front man, Kate has realized that it is OK to make mistakes in relationships. She said, "When it comes to relationships, unfortunately you've just got to be a grown-up. It doesn't mean you can't make mistakes; it doesn't mean you can't be a kid...But when it comes to the work of it, you just have to grow up...And when you do the work, it provide so much more room to be silly and make mistakes again."

Kate has dated playboy Owen Wilson and is currently linked to "P'unked" star Dax Shepard. The two wild men seem perfect for light-hearted Kate who does not have high expectations about men's ability.

She said, "As primal beings, men are not supposed to be monogamous. When people ask, 'Do you believe in monogamy?' Well, of course that's what you want. But part of what I love about men is that it's hard for them to be monogamous. Women, I think, need to spend more time understanding men than changing men. And vice versa."
