Karen Elson says a baby bump is the ultimate fashion accessory. The former supermodel, who is heavily pregnant with her husband The White Stripes singer Jack White's baby, attended the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards in New York on Monday night.

Karen said: "The secret to dressing for high fashion? Be pregnant. A, everyone is so nice to you, and B, it's not really about what you're wearing."

The White Stripes frontman and the elegant redhead already have a thirteen-month-old daughter, Scarlett Teresa.

Oprah Winfrey attended the event with Ralph Lauren who was honored with the American Fashion Legend award.

The talk show host said: "I told Ralph I can never let anything go.

"I still have a pair of red patent-leather boots. Years ago, I saw 'The Vagina Monologues' and they said, 'What is your vagina wearing?' It's wearing Ralph Lauren red patent-leather boots."

Diddy was also at the awards and revealed he has already purchased his outfit for next year's Oscars.

The music mogul said: "I don't like shopping for things, like, two days before. I shop a year in advance. I got Oscar outfits in my closet."

What is it with this stupid expression, 'baby bump?'
It didn't exist, in this country at least, until a few years ago when all the celebrity rags started using it.

I don't know but I hate that expression too. I'm 32 weeks pregnant myself and I never use that stupid term.
