Justin Timberlake says he tries not to take any illegal drugs when he's doing interviews, but alcohol is his mighty good friend. The solo pop artist recently joked that he was "completely drunk" while appearing on a late night talk show.
The "SexyBack" singer made the claim on "The Late Show with David Letterman" after being asked about revelations he smoked "weed" during a recent interview.
Timberlake quipped, "I make a promise to you I try not to do drugs while I'm doing interviews. I'm completely drunk right now."
Letterman also quizzed Timberlake on his relationship with "Charlie's Angels" actress Cameron Diaz, but the 25-year-old singer told the host he "didn't want to go into details."
Letterman also grilled Justin - who was making his first appearance on the popular show - about his now infamous half-time performance with Janet Jackson at Super Bowl XXXVIII.
Letterman asked, "It was all part of the deal, right? It was all planned, pre-meditated? As I recall you made a move to, uh... but what was supposed to happen? Doves were supposed to fly out? Release the doves!"
Justin confessed, "I think it's fair to say that was not a well thought out performance."
