Johnny Depp was shocked at how "great" an actor Keith Richards was.
The Hollywood actor, who appears alongside the Rolling Stones legend in new movie "Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End," admits Keith's talent blew him away.
Speaking at the world premiere of the third installment of the hit movie series at Los Angeles' Disneyland, Johnny said: "Obviously, Keith Richards invented charisma. But what I didn't expect was that he was going to be such a great actor."
Johnny based his character Jack Sparrow on Keith, 63, and was thrilled when the guitarist agreed to play Jack's father Captain Teague.
He added: "The anticipation was mad and when he finally arrived he was like this gunslinger. He charmed all the women and impressed all the men, then split."
Johnny and Keith were just two of the stars who wowed fans at the theme park premiere. The movies were inspired by the Disneyland ride of the same name.
Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, who also star in the movie, also thrilled the crowds as they walked down the red carpet on Saturday evening.
The "Pirates Of The Caribbean" films have become one of the most successful film franchises ever, with the second installment of the series taking over $1 billion worldwide.
"At World's End" is one of the most expensive movies in Hollywood history, costing a reported $300 million.
