John Travolta has his own personal parasol carrier to shield him from the sun.

The 'Pulp Fiction' star, who is currently filming his new movie 'Old Dogs' with Robin Williams, was shooting a scene at a hot dog stand on a New York street last Tuesday, and was kept cool between takes.

A witness told the New York Daily News newspaper: "The best part was that during breaks Travolta had a guy who would come shade him with an umbrella, while Robin braved the sun."

The film - which also stars Travolta's wife Kelly Preston and Matt Dillon - is about two business partners who, in a bizarre twist of fate, end up in the care of seven-year-old twins.

Travolta recently confessed he abuses his celebrity status and loves being fawned over by staff in top restaurants.

He said: "The restaurant thing is a 'gimme'. I don't even have to make reservations. When I was 21 and first started on my TV show 'Kotter' in the '70s, I went to a diner and the tab was on them. They said, 'We have a policy to give all famous people free food.'"

"I thought, 'Wow! I can get an apartment near this diner and eat just about every meal here. I'll be set.'"
