| Presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) won the endorsement of retired Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf as he speeds through north Florida to gather more support before the Sunshine State's primary on January 29. "Stormin' Norman" is a retired four-star general and was the commander of 1991's Gulf War Coalition Forces. The General's claim to fame was his daily, televised press conferences illustrating the progress of the war. Schwarzkopf's plans for Operation Desert Storm scored a decisive victory over Saddam Hussein's Iraqi forces in just four days. | | | |
| Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has received the endorsement of action star Sylvester Stallone. "I like McCain a lot," Stallone said on Fox News on Thursday. "You know, things may change along the way, but there's something about matching the character with the script. And right now, the script that's being written and reality is pretty brutal and pretty hard-edged like a rough action film, and you need somebody who's been in that to deal with it." | |
| Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) on Tuesday announced that singer and Oscar-winner Barbra Streisand has endorsed her campaign. "Madame President of the United States... it's an extraordinary thought. We truly are in a momentous time, where a woman's potential has no limitations," Streisand said in a statement released the Clinton campaign. "Smart, capable and strong in her convictions, Hillary has transcended the dictates of what is thought to be possible for our time." | |
