Jennifer Aniston celebrated her 40th birthday with a lavish party on Saturday night. The former "Friends" star - who turns the landmark age on February 11 - celebrated four days early with a star-studded bash at her Beverly Hills mansion.

Jennifer invited close friends including Courteney Cox and husband David Arquette, Oprah Winfrey, Sheryl Crow, Tobey Maguire and wife Jennifer Meyer, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson to join her and boyfriend John Mayer at the party.

Jennifer Aniston's friends thought some of her ex-boyfriends were gay. The "He's Just Not That Into You" actress - who is divorced from actor Brad Pitt and is currently dating musician John Mayer - claims pals have taken her aside to warn her off continuing relationships in the past.

She joked: "I've had people say, 'Honey, I think he's gay.' My reaction is, 'What! But we get along so well!'"

John Mayer has announced plans to propose to girlfriend Jennifer Aniston. The "Gravity" singer - who briefly split from the "Friends" actress last year after she became annoyed with him speaking publicly about their relationship - took to his Twitter blog over the weekend to confirm his intentions.

On Friday, John, 31, wrote: "Visiting the Diamond Exchange in Tustin."

The "Gravity" singer - who spent the night at the "Friends" actress' Los Angeles home on Monday - was reportedly seen snuggling up to the unidentified beauty at Santa Monica's Marix Tex Mex restaurant on Wednesday.

A source said: "John was talking to the girl, who was really cute - she was very animated and excited. As the dinner went on, John moved around the side of the table to be closer to her. Jennifer won't be happy."
