Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden surprised his girlfriend Nicole Richie with a family vacation to the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. The couple brought along their three-and-a-half month old daughter Harlow.
Madden took his family to the Palm Springs area for the Coachella festival, a three-day event headlined by performers including Prince, Jack Johnson and Roger Waters. On Saturday afternoon, Madden DJ'd a festival pre-party at the BPM Hpnotiq Smurf House, where he told People.com that they were having a little family trip since Nicole hadn't been able to do much over the year.
They spent time hanging out a the pool, and while Madden was spinning records Richie spent time chatting with friends.
Also in town for the event was Joel's twin brother Benji Madden and his girlfriend of two months, Paris Hilton, who also happens to be best friends with Richie. When asked about wedding plans and who would make it to the alter first, Joel said he and Nicole were the ones with the baby so they probably would. But he would not give any details about whether or not there was going to be a wedding.
