It looks like Nick Lachey won't be getting his fair share of the deal. The hot singer and his former wife, Jessica Simpson, have divided up their assets, but Nick is getting a lot less than he bargained for.

TMZ has learned exclusively that the couple did not sign a pre-nup agreement prior to getting married, so under California law Jessica was required to divide half of her assets, which are estimated at $36 million, to former husband Nick Lachey. Under California law, the pair would equally get $18 million each.

Jessica Simpson's mom reportedly stopped her from posing for a racy photo shoot to maintain her girl next door image.

The singer-turned-actress, who is now divorced from ex-husband Nick Lachey, recently posed for America's OK! magazine but her mom was unhappy with the publication's plans for the shoot.

Onlookers at Sushi Roku restaurant in Santa Monica, California got an eye and ear full when Nick Lachey and his soon-to-be-ex father-in-law, Jessica's dad, Joe Simpson, bumped heads.

Rumor has it that Nick had been dining with a buddy and was all set to leave when Joe walked in, spotted Nick, and said bluntly, "You'll never get half of everything in the divorce settlement."
