Jessica Simpson is "all over the place" following her love split.

The 29-year-old singer-and-actress was stunned when her American football player boyfriend Tony Romo ended their relationship last week, and she can't come to terms with the separation.

Jessica Simpson's boyfriend dumped her after he found text messages from her ex-lover. Tony Romo, who split from Jessica last week, was reportedly furious when he discovered the singer-and-actress was still in touch with her former boyfriend John Mayer.

When Jessica refused to explain why she had kept the messages from the musician, Tony decided to end their 20-month relationship on the eve of her 29th birthday.

American football star Tony - who started dating Jessica in November 2007 - reportedly called time on their relationship the day before Jessica's 29th birthday.

A source said: "She is heartbroken. She loves Tony, but it's been difficult lately. He's busy with his career and she's getting ready to shoot her show 'The Price of Beauty'. They decided to part ways. They were good together for along time, but I guess it wasn't meant to be."

'With You' singer Jessca Simpson celebrated her 29th birthday on Friday (7.10.09) and while her planned Barbie party failed to happen, the blonde beauty is enjoying being one step closer to turning 30.

She wrote her Twitter page: "barbie party didn't happen, but i turned 29 and feel like i am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER."
