Jessica Simpson is a singer, actress and an entrepreneur with her own fragrance, hair extension line, clothing and shoe line and bath and body collection. Now the pop-turned-country singer is hawking another product - beer.
Simpson has signed on as spokeswoman for Stampede Light Plus, made by Dallas' Stampede Brewing Co.
Simpson, who spends a lot of time in Dallas because she is dating Dallas Cowboy star Tony Romo, will appear in ads in stores for the beer and is taking a 15 percent stake in the brewer. The Dallas Morning News reported that terms were not disclosed.
Simpson is now the official face of the brand, which considers itself a beer for active people, according to Lawrence Schwartz, Stampede's president and chief executive. Simpson said in a statement that as an entrepreneur she's "always looking for ways to diversify my portfolio with good ideas and good people."
