Jessica Simpson is suing OK! magazine. The Blonde Ambition actress is accusing the gossip magazine of printing a "smear campaign" against her.
OK! has printed an article regarding the singer entitled Jessica Dumped, referring to her relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Simpson's legal reps claim that the story is "utterly false" and "based on nothing more than rumor, gossip and innuendo."
The article has said that Simpson's singing sister, Ashlee, wants to "distance herself" from Simpson, which is another lie according to the lawyers.
The lawyers have apparently sent a letter to the magazine's Editor-in-Chief, Sara Ivens, to deny the breakup and the sibling squabble. They say that the article has subjected their client to "public contempt, ridicule, aversion or disgrace."
Simpson wants the magazine to "immediately publish a prominent and unambiguous" withdrawal.
