The "Newlyweds" stars - who tied the knot in 2002 - filed for a legal separation last December. However, the couple had their marriage officially dissolved on Friday.

The couple announced the breakdown of their relationship a day before Thanksgiving last year.

In a joint statement, Jessica and Nick said: "After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways.

"This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

Although the marriage is legally over, the issue of money still needs to settled.

Not long after Jessica filed for divorce, Nick revealed that he "reserved the right" to ask for financial support, but he later denied he had plans to ask his now ex-wife for any money.

Both stars are already embarking on new relationships.

Nick has been linked to a number of women, including Vanessa Minnillo and stylist Kim Kardashian, while Jessica recently revealed she had met a guy with a "great imagination that sends me through the rafters. I love it!"
