Brody Jenner may be aiming to be the male version of Paris Hilton.
While he has high aspirations, his plan to become famous for dating has backfired and caused the 'star' to come forward and dispute the claims.
In a new interview with Details magazine, Jenner's 'friend' Spencer Pratt said the "Princes Of Malibu" star became involved with Nicole Richie to make her eat.
The idea was to attach Jenner, a C-list celebrity with no proven talent other than attracting starlets like moths to a flame, to Richie to raise his profile.
Pratt told the magazine he said to Jenner, "Here's what you're gonna do. You're gonna start dating Nicole Richie. And you're gonna get that skinny bitch to eat, all right? You are about to become The Guy Who Got Nicole Richie to Eat. Process that shit, bro. You'll be, like, a f***ing hero to America."
Jenner did end up dating the "Simple Life" star and she eventually did eat, so while that part of the plan was fulfilled, the positive payoff has failed to eventuate.
Being branded a scoundrel, Jenner has turned on the charm to PEOPLE.
He said, "I have broad shoulders and can handle what is written about me personally but when I am misquoted or mischaracterized as exhibiting a disrespectful attitude towards someone I care about, I feel I need to clarify the situation. I genuinely love Nicole...I would never say or do anything hurtful to those I love and respect. I'm sorry it was represented that way."
The reality TV star was careful to not deny that the plan ever took place, which may be helpful when he sets his sights on the next B-lister. Jenner has already chalked up dates with "The Hills" star Lauren 'LC' Conrad and Kristin Cavallari.
Most recently, Jenner was the lucky recipient of alleged text messages from Lindsay Lohan claiming she wanted "sex and McDonalds."
Fittingly, in the Details interview, Jenner likens his life to a movie.
He said, "It's like a movie set, like my life is a movie set. These people, they all think this is real, but it's not."
While Jenner is busy backpedaling, Details editor-in-chief, Daniel Peres, says, "Details stands by the story 100 percent."
