British crooner James Blunt is making beautiful music stateside. After topping the charts in his native England and across Europe, the 'Beautiful' singer has made it to the coveted number one spot on the Billboard chart.

It's the first time in nearly a decade that a Brit has landed a number one single in the states, with Elton Johns' 'Candle in the Wind' in 1997 the last to do so.

Pop legend Prince is reportedly set to re-form the New Power Generation and make a surprise appearance at this week's Brit Awards. According to published reports, Prince is to perform at Wednesday's ceremony at Earl's Court in London.

The News Of the World reports the singer will play three tracks, but has not yet decided which hits from his back catalogue to include in his set. Brit Awards organizers have still not confirmed Prince's appearance, but claim there are more last-minute performers to be announced for the ceremony.
