Jack Nicholson has reportedly been making plans to knock Marlon Brando's old house down. The legendary actor who bought the late "Godfather" star's home shortly after his death two years ago is said to be planning to demolish the house and turn the site into a giant flowerbed.
Nicholson originally bought the building to respect Brando's memory as one of Hollywood's greatest stars and to maintain it for the late actor's children. The actor now apparently wants to plant frangipani flowers on the site of the $6.5 million property on Los Angeles' notorious Mulholland Drive.
Brando had named the house after frangipani yellow flowers, which serve as a symbol for Buddhism. According to British newspaper The Sunday Times, Nicholson made the decision because restoring the "derelict" house would be too expensive.
Nicholson is set to star in his first film in three years, "The Departed," due to be released later this year. Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film is a remake of the Chinese hit movie and also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Martin Sheen, Mark Wahlberg, Ray Winstone and Alec Baldwin.
