Hugh Jackman doesn't just play comic book characters, he is also about to create one. The Aussie actor, who had starred as mutant Wolverine from "X-Men," has developed a series for Virgin Comics.

Jackman, together with screenwriter Marc Guggenhaim, has created the new sci-fi series and called it "Nowhere Man."

Virgin Comic officials describe the story as "a sci-fi odyssey set in a groundbreaking vision of the future in which mankind has traded privacy for safety."

Jackman, 39, is excited for the new joint venture. He says, "I've had so much fun in the graphic novel world with the 'X-Men' franchise that I wanted to get even more involved. I am so excited to work with Virgin and Marc and create a compelling character and story that hopefully will also make it to the big screen."

His partner Guggenheim is already an old hand on the comic book world. He had written comics on Wolverine series by Marvel comics and the best-selling "Amazing Spider-Man."
