Little did Jennifer Hudson know that a star was in the making when she was bashed and criticized on "American idol."
The rising star said she still "pinches herself" every day because she can't believe how big a star she has become.
Jennifer began her road to superstardom as a finalist on "American Idol" before going on to win a Golden Globe and receive an Oscar nomination for her performance as Effie White in "Dreamgirls"- and no one is more astounded than she is.
She told Britain's Guardian newspaper, "This is all beyond my wildest dreams. From the moment I got the call telling me I got the part in 'Dreamgirls,' to the day I walked on set with Beyonce, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, up until this point, I could never have imagined how huge it would become. I literally pinch myself every day."
The singer-turned-actress has also revealed she learned a lot about being a star and dealing with fame from her "Dreamgirls'" co-star Beyonce.
She said, "Beyonce is a goddess. She is a big influence on me."
