Hilary Swank will slay vampires in her new film "Fangland."

The Oscar-winning actress is rumored to be playing Evangeline Harker, a TV producer who is sent to Romania to research legendary criminal figure Ion Torgu with gruesome consequences.

The movie is based on the John Marks' novel of the same name, which itself is a modern interpretation of Bram Stoker's "Dracula."

Swank's production company Accomplice Films, which she set-up with ex-husband Chad Lowe, recently bought the film rights to the book.

Marks is a former editor of current affairs show "60 Minutes." Fictional TV show "The Hour," which is featured in his book, is based on his own experiences.

It is not yet known when filming on the horror project begins.
