Hayden Panettiere is inspired by Meryl Streep. The "Heroes" star insists she wants to be best known for her acting ability and not her private life, citing Meryl - who has been nominated for an Academy Award 15 times - as the person she most admires.

Hayden explained: "I love acting. It's something I respect. It's something that makes me want to be respected for what I do. I'm working toward being a respected actress. Meryl Streep is it for me."

Hayden Panettiere was attracted to her first crush because he was so good at "kickball." The "Heroes" actress - whose relationship with co-star Milo Ventimiglia ended earlier this year - was besotted with the boy because of his brilliant sports skills, but was left crushed when she realized he was more interested in her best friend.

She revealed: "My biggest crush was in the second grade on this kid named Mike. He was really good at kickball."

Kylie Minogue wowed the crowd with a stunning performance at a charity concert at the Cannes Film Festival. The singer, who turns 41 tomorrow, sang a medley of hits at the Miracle Africa International Fundraiser, which helps fight malaria in African countries, held at the VIP Club.

Speaking before the event, Kylie said: "This is a very small venue compared to what I would normally do, and I'm going to absolutely love it, it just feels like a really sweaty show. I turn around and there's my band and we are all crammed in together."

Hayden Panettiere is reportedly dating British TV presenter Steve Jones. The "Heroes" actress enjoyed an intimate dinner with the 32-year-old lothario at top London restaurant Nobu Berkeley on Tuesday night before the pair headed to a nearby house party.

An onlooker said: "There were a group of them at the restaurant, including Sir Elton John's husband David Furnish, but Hayden and Steve only had eyes for each other. They seemed smitten."
