Harrison Ford is as fit as he was 20 years ago. The 'Indiana Jones' star claims he can still cut it as the iconic daredevil archaeologist, despite being 61 - and did as many of his own stunts as possible for the new movie.

Harrison said: "I am probably as fit, or possibly fitter, than I was 18 or 20 years ago. Part of it is genetic, part of it is a willingness to keep myself in the best shape for an old guy."

During the shooting of 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull', Harrison refused to rely on computer wizardry to keep the action as real as possible.

He explained in an interview with Britain's The Sun newspaper: "In many films people hit somebody and they fly halfway across the state. That doesn't make sense and you get bored with it, you don't feel it could happen to you. I have always had the ambition to have my face in it so people could feel the emotional consistency with the character through those physical moments."

The hotly-anticipated new movie - the fourth installment in the series - is directed by Steven Spielberg and will have its premiere at the Cannes film festival on Saturday.

Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone and John Hurt star alongside Harrison.
