Gwen Stefani never steps out of her L.A. or London homes with her roots showing through her platinum blonde hair, has her red lips smiling and outfit coordinated to perfection.
And the mother-of-one says any woman who had paparazzi waiting outside for her would be no different.
Except maybe Britney Spears...
The impeccable groomed singer has admitted and talked about her vanity in the latest Harper's Bazaar magazine, revealing the effort she goes into to ensure she is always camera ready.
Stefani said, "I had to sneak into the back of my brother Todd's car - eight months pregnant - and lie down on the floor. Just so we could go to Target."
Now that she is back to topping charts and selling out tours, the No Doubt singer is making sure she is more presentable than ever. After having a baby in 2006, son Kingston, Stefani says she immediately set about transforming her body back to the rock hard form she is famous for.
She said, "It's so much work afterward to get the weight off. If you just do it, it comes off. And when you're nursing, like I am, your metabolism is like whoosh!"
While other stars put their perfect figures down to "good genes", Mrs Rossdale isn't ashamed to admit that she works hard for her curves.
She said, "I hate talking about it, but it's true. I've always been on a diet, ever since I was in the sixth grade. It's an ongoing battle and it's a nightmare. But I like clothes too much, and I always wanted to wear the outfits I would make...And I'm very vain."
As many female celebrities crumble to the size zero craze and shrink away on screen, Stefani says she is doing the opposite.
She continued, "I've gotten a little more feminine over the last few years. As the years go by, you get more comfortable with looking more like a woman."
In tune with her new womanly approach, she concludes, "I just want to make babies and make records."
