Madonna wants to "cocoon" her new daughter Mercy from the world. The "4 Minutes" singer has sent her two sons - adopted David, three, and eight-year-old Rocco - to visit her ex-husband Guy Ritchie so she can bond with the adopted girl.

A family friend told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Madonna had hoped to have all the children together for the next few days but David couldn't contain his excitement and was running round the house like a runaway horse. He kept shouting, 'I want to see my sister,' and endlessly hugging and tugging at her.

Madonna's appeal to adopt another Malawian orphan has been successful. The 50-year-old singer - whose bid to give a home to four-year-old Mercy James was rejected in March - has reportedly persuaded three Supreme Court of Appeal judges to approve the adoption.

Two judges have already submitted reports recommending Madonna be granted custody of Mercy, and the third is said to be "in complete unison with them."

Guy Ritchie is set to remake "Guys and Dolls." The "Sherlock Holmes" director has flown to Hollywood for a series of meetings about turning the successful musical and 1955 movie, which is about two small-time gamblers in New York, into a modern-day blockbuster.

A source said: "Guy has been on the case with the idea of making a musical recently. He has had a lot of meetings with top studio bosses about other projects but the 'Guys and Dolls' idea really tickled him."
