However, since appearing on the British reality TV show "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here" the man known as being one half of stardoms oddest couples has won the hearts of enough people to warrant a book deal.
According to reports, Gest has signed a $1 million contract to pen his autobiography so that he can reveal to the world how he...married Liza?
A source claims, "David's got no obvious talents. He can't sing or dance - but he is absolutely charming. The book will reveal what his secret is."
The producers wedding to Oscar winner Minnelli is sure to be enough for at least one whole chapter - the bizarre nuptials featured Michael Jackson as the best man and Elizabeth Taylor as the maid of honor.
Since their bitter separation, Gest has filed a damages claim against Minnelli in which he says he was physically abused by the "Cabaret" star.
