George Michael has signed a deal to write a "no holds barred" autobiography. The 'Fast Love' singer has promised to reveal intimate details about his eventful life - including his homosexuality and U.K. and U.S. arrests - after agreeing a multi-million pound publishing deal with HarperCollins.

Michael's manager Andy Stephens said: "People aren't stupid, they're beginning to notice that the truth is more interesting than the stories the press come up with. George has promised HarperCollins a no-holds-barred biography, and it's certain to be just that."

A HarperCollins statement added: "It is one of the hottest remaining untold celebrity memoirs. The book will be truly authentic."

The tome - due to be released in autumn 2009 - is expected to include a "warts and all" chapter on his arrest for engaging in a lewd act in a Beverly Hills public toilet in 1998.

Michael, who was arrested by an undercover police officer, was fined $810 and sentenced to 80 hours of community service for the offence.

Last year, the 44-year-old star was banned from driving for a year and sentenced to 100 hours community service after being found "slumped and drooling" at the wheel of his car at a set of London traffic lights.

Michael - who had taken anti-depressants and sleeping pills - is also expected to reveal details about his "sexual freedom", fear of taking a HIV test and drug use.

He previously said cannabis was a "great drug", adding: "This stuff keeps me sane and happy. I could write without it if I were sane and happy. But obviously it's not very healthy."
