"Star Wars" geeks everywhere now have the hope that they could one day be dating a girl like Ashlee Simpson.
Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz is flying the flag for Sci-Fi fans everywhere by getting excited over a birthday present from his beautiful girlfriend. Ashlee, who has been dating Pete for just a few months, gave him a rare poster for the film "Return Of The Jedi."
Pete is excited because the vintage poster is for "Revenge Of The Jedi," the original name George Lucas gave the iconic film.
The star told PEOPLE, "Ashlee got me a 'Revenge Of The Jedi' poster. I'm kinky and it's like, in Star Wars originally 'Return Of The Jedi' was called 'Revenge Of The Jedi,' and then George Lucas decided that [revenge] was not a Jedi-like trait. So she bought it for me. I think it's sweet. It's awesome."
While the couple works well together in private, they have no plans to make their relationship professional. Reports had suggested that Pete would be making an appearance on Ashlee's upcoming album, but he says that it is not true.
The bassist told MTV News, "That's pretty much the silliest recent rumor I have read. Mostly (because) I want no part in selling a relationship. I mean, it is not true. She hasn't really played me any of (her album). I heard part of a demo that I liked, though.
"I mean, reports getting out are a bummer when they are absolutely not true. But at the same time you have to understand that this is part of the territory."
Ashlee has recently been on the road with Fall Out Boy, following around her new man while he is on tour.
