"Frasier" star Kelsey Grammer wants to run for President - despite achequered past. The star - who shot to fame in the 80s sitcom "Cheers" - says his past, including a cocaine habit, a penchant for strippers and battle with booze won't hurt his chances.

He revealed: "It's a notion I have about the future - to run for office, to do the world some good...The idea that we can do the world some good is a little nuts, the world tends to take care of itself. But as I get older, in maybe 15 years or so, there may be a run for office."

He added to America's Maxim magazine: "The opposition would hope my pastwould harm me, but my frankness and openness about it would probably benefit me."

Meanwhile, Grammer has also revealed that playing Beast in the forthcomingmovie, "X Men: The Last Stand," was like being in a Shakespeare play.

The star confessed: "He's a cross between several of the bards' characters...He's very wise, so he's a bit like Jacques in 'As You Like It' and he's a little bit like Pandarus in 'Troilus and Cressida,' because he understandsthe evils of society...He's also a bit like 'Henry V,' because he likes to rally around a cause."
