Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie has compared herself to Britain's Princess Diana.
The 32-year-old star believes she appeals to the public in the same way the late royal - who was known around the world for her tireless charity work, before her untimely death in 1997- did.
She told Blender magazine, "People put celebrities on a pedestal and act like they're perfect, but I'm more like the people's artist - the same way Diana was 'the people's princess.' I'm a little more human than other artists. I'm not afraid to show my flaws."
Fergie - real name Stacy Ann Ferguson - has had some dealings with royalty in the past.
The singer shares a nickname with Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and the pair have worked together on some charity projects.
Fergie previously said, "I had a conversation with her on the phone. It was great - I was talking to royalty! I think we are going to do some charity work together. I know that she builds schools and both my parents are teachers."
