Farrah Fawcett has died of cancer at age 62. The "Charlie's Angels" actress passed away in a Los Angeles hospital Thursday with her family by her side.

The U.S. star had fought a long and courageous battle against anal cancer but was rushed from her home to intensive care last night and read her last rites this morning.

Farrah Fawcett is "praying for a miracle" in her cancer battle. The "Charlie's Angels" actress has undergone unsuccessful radiation and chemotherapy treatments in a bid to beat anal cancer, but she insists she is not prepared to give up her fight.

She said: "Cancer is a disease that is mysterious, headstrong and makes its own rules. And mine, to this date, is incurable."

Farrah Fawcett says her cancer battle should be "off limits." The former "Charlie's Angels" star - whose anal cancer has spread to her liver - does not mind other sufferers looking to her for inspiration, but dislikes people knowing the intimate details of her illness.

Speaking last August, Farrah told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: "I'm a private person. I'm shy about people knowing things. And I'm really shy about my medical care. It would be good if I could just go and heal and then when I decided to go out, it would be OK. It seems that there are areas that should be off-limits.

Farrah Fawcett is reportedly close to death. The "Charlie's Angels" actress is said to be unconscious and in a "critical but stable" condition at a Los Angeles hospital after her battle with cancer worsened last week.

Farrah was admitted to hospital last Thursday, and her former partner Ryan O'Neal, 67, is by her side.

Ryan O'Neal has nothing to do with the drugs found in his home, says his lawyer. The "Love Boat" actor was arrested on Wednesday after police discovered what they believed to be methamphetamine - known as crystal meth - in his bedroom.

The officers were conducting a sweep of the property to ensure Ryan's 23-year-old son Redmond - who was also arrested following the raid - was adhering to his probation conditions, relating to previous drug offences.

Ryan O'Neal has been arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.

Police found the drug Wednesday at the actor's Malibu home during a routine check connected with his 23-year-old son Redmond, who is on probation for three years after admitting driving under the influence and possession of heroin and methamphetamine, known as crystal meth, in June.
