Katie Holmes will always "stand up for" her family. The former 'Dawson's Creek' actress won't put up with vicious rumors being spread about her family, and will always defend her Scientologist husband Tom Cruise and their 21-month-old daughter Suri.

She said: "I will stand up for my family. There was stuff in the news about our daughter. That's just not OK. It's something that I don't stand for. I am a mother."

It is likely Katie was referring to speculation about Suri's paternity, including "explosive revelations" made by Andrew Morton in his book, 'Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography.'

Katie refused to be drawn on rumors about the authenticity of her relationship with Tom, telling Us Weekly magazine: "There's obviously been a lot that's been said about our relationship."

The 29-year-old actress - who can next be seen starring alongside Queen Latifah in 'Mad Money' - also revealed Suri is a huge fan of reality talent show, 'American Idol'.

She told KIIS-FM host, and 'American Idol' presenter, Ryan Seacrest: "Suri loves 'American Idol!'"

When Ryan offered to get the family free tickets to the show, Katie laughed: "I would be very grateful!"

Katie added while she isn't ready to have another baby just yet, she insists she and Tom will be expanding their brood in the future. She said: "I definitely want to have another baby, but not in the immediate future. Long term, of course."
