Enrique Iglesias is one of those people with a weird celebrity sense of humor.
While most people tell standard jokes, celebs seem to be able to get out of P.R. hot water by claiming that they were 'joking' when they said the controversial statement.
It is exactly what Enrique has done after revealing he is a supposedly single man.
The Spanish heartthrob, who has been dating Anna Kournikova for the past five years, 'joked' to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that they were married and are now divorced.
However, no wedding ever took place. Nor did a break-up. Both a friend of Anna's and Enrique's rep confirm to PEOPLE that they star couple are still going strong.
The singer's spokesperson said, "They are still together."
Marriage has been on Enrique's mind lately. While promoting his new album, the star has been musing over his future with the former tennis player.
The singer hasn't come to a conclusion about Anna being 'The One,' but says, "The only thing I can say is that, in my opinion, Anna, whether we are together or not, would be an ideal mother."
