Japan's Empress Michiko visited Tokyo's Mori Art Museum yesterday.

The empress viewed about 300 items at the Le Corbusier exhibition, spending about an hour admiring paintings, furniture and models of the Swiss-born artist's architectural work.

Japan's Prince Tomohito has been discharged from hospital after being treated for alcoholism.

According to tradition, Japan's monarchy waits seven days after a royal birth before announcing the name of their newborn. Now, a week after Princess Kiko gave birth to a boy, the prince's name has finally been revealed. The young tot has been named Hisahito.

The prince, who was born on September 6, was today officially named in a traditional ceremony at the Tokyo hospital where he and his mother Princess Kiko are both recovering.
