Music icon Elton John has never been afraid to speak his mind.
In a recent interview with "Access Hollywood," the outrageous musician spoke candidly about his thoughts on Whitney Houston's divorce and Clay Aiken's sexuality, among other things.
Whitney Houston recently made headlines when she ended her tumultuous 14 year marriage to R&B artist Bobby Brown. And quite frankly, Elton thinks you did the right thing, sista!
He said, "Bobby's not good for her, and because of the addiction thing, she keeps going back. The writing was on the wall many, many years ago with that one."
Another star who's been making news all over the country regarding his sexuality is "American Idol" Clay Aiken. Speculation on whether the singer is gay or not has spread like wild fire, even forcing Diane Sawyer to ask him the inevitable, dreadful question in a TV interview. However, whatever his sexual orientation, Elton says that's his personal business.
He said, "I don't even care if Clay Aiken is gay or not. It's none of my business."
The 59-year-old also spoke about the inspiration behind his AIDS Foundation and his relentless passion and hope to someday find a cure for the disease. He admits he's made mistakes with unsafe sex, drugs and alcohol in the past, but thanks his lucky stars that he's still alive today.
He explained, "I've dodged so many bullets. Not just because of unsafe sex, but because of the amount of drugs I did, the amount of alcohol, the amount of work I was doing. I started the Elton John AIDS Foundation because I got so lucky."
Elton's AIDS Foundation was established in 1992. With the help of his long-time friend Elizabeth Taylor, the foundation has distributed more than $60 million in global efforts and campaigning to prevent the deadly disease.
