When Ellen DeGeneres revealed she was a lesbian and stepped out on to the red carpet with actress Anne Heche, a new type of Hollywood couple was born.
However, the Academy Awards host says she has finally found "completion" with Australian star Portia De Rossi.
In the latest issue of The Advocate, the comedian has opened up about her happiness since hooking up with the stunning blonde.
She said, "I could say the same thing I've said in every relationship: 'I'm happy.' But there's happiness and there's love, and then there's completion. It doesn't take away from any of the relationships that I've had, 'cause I've had amazing relationships. ... But I feel like I found my perfect fit."
The star, who caused a media stir when she announced her sexuality on her sitcom "Ellen," continued that the pair have helped each other. She said, "She's taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I've taught her. We've both changed and grown, and we just feel like, 'Oh, OK, this is completion.'"
Always the funny-girl, DeGeneres joked about her relief of missing the Oscars red carpet with her girlfriend, saying, "When we're together and she's in her heels, I always feel like Tom Cruise next to Nicole Kidman."
