Ellen DeGeneres and her new wife Portia de Rossi are thinking about starting a family.

Former "Ally McBeal" actress Portia - who wed Ellen in an intimate sunset ceremony last week - revealed the couple have already discussed having children.

The 35-year-old blonde star said: "We go back and forth, I don't know if it's our immediate future. It's something we talk about every few months."

U.S. talk show host Ellen has joked she would love to be a mother to "pretty kids", like the six children Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have together.

Ellen said: "If they would be as pretty as Brad and Angelina's kids, we might."

"It's something we would never take lightly and just say, 'That would be fun.' It's a lot of work and we recognize that."

Ellen has also confessed the newlyweds want to enjoy married life for a while before they think about children.

The 50-year-old star added to People magazine: "In a way, we want to be selfish because we love our life, but we know how much that adds to it."
