There may be a waiting list for musicians entering rehab.

First there was Britney, then Robbie and now Eddie Van Halen has jumped on the band wagon.

The guitarist posted an open letter to fans on his website, explaining his reasons for seeking help.

He said, "I would like Van Halen fans to know how much I truly appreciate each and every one of you. I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. That's why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110 percent that I feel I owe you and want to give you."

Van Halen's alcohol problem was said to be the contributing factor in the failed reunion with his band mates.

The rockers will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12 along with Patti Smith and R.E.M. Although Eddie will not be appearing, singer Sammy Hagar and bassist Michael Anthony plan to attend.

Alex Van Halen and David Lee Roth will not be appearing at the ceremony.
