Eddie Murphy's ex-wife of a little more than two weeks is laughing off reports that Jimmy Choo shoes had cost her their marriage.
Film producer Tracey Edmonds denies reports that a deal with the luxury shoe company was secretly signed by her brother, Michael McQuam, for her sister and bridesmaids to wear the shoes in wedding photos he had hoped to sell to People magazine.
The arrangement was reportedly done without the comedian's consent, which led to a dispute on their January 1 wedding.
But, Edmonds claims that there was no shoe deal. There was, however, a watch deal. She says instead of shoes for the girls, her brother attempted to broker a watch deal for Murphy and the groomsmen.
She says, "That Jimmy Choo stuff, that's the biggest lie. No one even considered doing a deal with Jimmy Choo. I just happened to wear some shoes that were by Jimmy Choo."
McQuam also tells Sister2Sister magazine that he did return the watches from the time-maker D'Atlantis.
The ex-couple married in Bora Bora on the first day of this year. The marriage, which wasn't official, was supposed to be followed by a legal ceremony in the U.S. but they both decided to split on January 16.
