After walking off from the set of "Larry King Live" in November, Dr. Jan Adams is back to talk about how the death of Kanye West's mother, Donda, nearly "destroyed" his business.
When host Larry King asked the plastic surgeon on how had Donda's death affected his business, Adams replied, "Horribly. It's almost destroyed." The matriarch West had a liposuction and breast reduction performed on her by Adams one day before she died on November 10.
Adams, who had hosted Discovery Health Channel's Plastic Surgery: Before and After, said that his being a TV personality had made him an easy target for malpractice suits. "I think me having done a TV show makes me a target."
West's death had been ruled as heart failure. The report said that "there was no evidence of a surgical or anesthetic misadventure" found but "multiple post-operative factors could have played a role."
Lawyers for the West family have been in touch with Adams although he hasn't spoken to Kanye yet. He declined to discuss the case furthermore citing patient-doctor confidentiality.
"As far as I'm concerned, at least the autopsy report suggests nothing went on during surgery, nothing went on during recovery," the doctor told the host.
