Dina Lohan Calls Lindsay "Normal"

Dina Lohan continues to be the most supportive mother alive.

The stage mom, who is frequently spotted at Lindsay's side when they are at chic nightclubs, is defending her daughter no matter what happens. Rehab, cocaine scandals and hot affairs? No problem to Dina - she believes Lindsay is just a normal 20-year-old.

However, "normal" Lindsay has been in AA meetings since she was 19, spent a month in Wonderland treatment facility and has reportedly romanced men twice her age.

According to Dina, who acts as Lindsay's manager and is therefore on the payroll, the press just gives the starlet a bad rep.

She told Us Weekly magazine that they are ignoring the recent cocaine scandal, which featured pictures of Lindsay doing the illegal drug in a bathroom. The elder Lohan said, "We're not reading anything about it. You can't let it bother you. We work so hard, then some girl just tried to make money off her [for that tape]. Lindsay doesn't even know who her friends are."

Dina doesn't deny that Lindsay has been dabbling in illegal, class-A drugs. Nor does she appear to have an issue with her eldest child spending all of her nights in bars. She continued, "This [premieres and parties] is the fun part of the business. She'll be 21 in a few months. Regardless, of course, as a parent, you set boundaries and scold them. But there are these dark stories - she is so misunderstood. All she wants to do is act and have a somewhat normal life."

Lately, Lindsay's profile has risen because of her wild antics, which also include paparazzi car accidents and fights with Paris Hilton, rather than her film career. Her latest film, "Georgia Rule," has bombed at the U.S. box office.
