Cameron Diaz has won a case against tabloid National Enquirer.

The actress filed a law suit against the publication, part of American Media Incorporated, after they published pictures and an article on their website in 2005 accusing her of having an affair with a married man and cheating on her then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

Diaz has previously won a case against British tabloid The Sun after it printed the same story.

Simon Smith, a partner with the London law firm Schillings, told London's High Court that the magazine fabricated the article, which claimed Diaz had a "smooching session" with a married television producer.

At the time, Diaz and the man were colleagues on the MTV show "Trippin'".

The story was not printed in Britain after Diaz filed the suit. National Enquirer magazines "apologized unreservedly" in court over the false claims.

A lawyer for the magazine, Sam Howard, said the publication, "entirely accepts that the allegations were without foundation and ought never to have been published."

Details of the case are being kept private. However, Diaz lawyer said she had been awarded "substantial" damages.
