Diane Keaton is going to be a furniture designer. The 'Annie Hall' actress talks about her newest venture and her fascination with designing since childhood.

"I've never done anything like this before," 61-year-old Keaton says on launching her own range of furniture. "I've really enjoyed trying to imagine how the California indoor/outdoor lifestyle could be mass produced."

Keaton's father introduced her to California architecture that inspired her new creations. "The furniture that I'm interested in is what I've collected in the past - Monterey furniture. Monterey furniture is indigenous to Southern California. It was made and created in the late 1920s."

"My father worked for the Department of Power and Water and when I was a little girl, we'd go to downtown Los Angeles and it was like a stunning wonderland to me," Keaton says.

Also interested in photography, Keaton has paid Californian architecture a tribute in a coffee book table entitled California Romantica,' which features photos of Spanish Colonial-style homes.
