There's more reason to celebrate and more love to go around for one hugely successful television star. Marcia Cross can now look forward to two bundles of joy as the "Desperate Housewives" red-haired star recently revealed she is expecting twins!

Marcia announced earlier this month that she and her stockbroker husband Tom Mahoney were expecting their first child together next April.

On Thursday it was revealed that the 44-year-old redhead, who underwent IVF (in-vitro fertilization) treatment to conceive, is carrying twins.

Cross - who plays uptight Bree Van de Kamp in the hit television show - has previously spoken out about the issue of fertility in older woman.

She said, "I don't like the average woman being misled into thinking that fertility is something that goes on forever. When a woman gets older, they get a donor egg, which doesn't make the baby any less beautiful or perfect. One's own eggs only last so long, and sometimes at 43 or 44 you can have your own baby, but statistically it's very difficult and expensive. You don't want to wait that long."

Cross is not the only celebrity in Hollywood expecting twins. Diddy and his long-time girlfriend Kim Porter recently revealed they too are expecting a double birth.
