"American Idol" contestant David Cook talked about his recent hospital scare with host Ryan Seacrest during the show's live elimination round Wednesday night. It had been reported that Cook was hospitalized following Tuesday night's show because he was feeling heart palpitations.
Seacrest asked Cook about the experience and Cook confirmed that he was taken to the hospital. But the singer, who has turned out to be a front-runner in this year's singing reality show, also said the whole experience was blown out of proportion.
"The whole thing kind of got blown out of proportion," Cook told Seacrest. "I have high blood pressure, and it spiked, so they took me to the nearest hospital. But I'm cool. I'm not going anywhere."
And the singer was correct about not going anywhere, as he was safe during this week's show. Instead, singer Ramiele Malubay was the one voted off.
Throughout Wednesday's elimination show, Cook looked happy and relaxed and didn't appear to be suffering from symptoms that sent him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Tuesday. The singer performed Dolly Parton's song "Little Sparrow" on Tuesday before going to the hospital.
