Avril Lavigne is to release her own range of perfume, shampoo and bath soaps. The 'Girlfriend' rocker filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office last December, the first step to launching her own cosmetic range.

Avril applied for a patent for: "Fragrances and perfumery, aftershave, pre-shave, bath oil, bath soap, shower gel, body shampoo, deodorant for personal use, tissues impregnated with cosmetic lotions, bath crystals, bath milks, dusting powder, body lotion, body splash, body cream, hand lotion and talc."

David Beckham has been left "humbled" by his trip to poverty-stricken Sierra Leone. The soccer star - who has three sons, Brooklyn, eight, Romeo, five, and two-year-old Cruz with Spice Girl wife Victoria - will "never forget" his visit to West Africa for United Nations children's organization UNICEF.

David said: "I've just returned from visiting Sierra Leone in Africa as part of my role as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Though I saw many problems and issues to tackle, I was heartened by the incredible and selfless work UNICEF and other agencies do."

David Beckham's priority is to save children. The football star has made a secret trip to Sierra Leone in Africa last weekend for UNICEF to aid impoverished children in the nation where child deaths are the highest in the world.

"We can't turn a blind eye to the tens of thousands of young children who die every day in the developing world," the husband of Posh Spice Victoria says in a statement. "One in four children dies before reaching their fifth birthday - it's shocking and tragic especially when the solutions are simple - things like vaccinations against measles or using a mosquito net to reduce the chance of getting malaria."

The 32-year-old husband of Posh Spice tells BBC Radio that he is also in awe of Nelson Mandela and Muhammad Ali. He says that Wonder's "Superstition" is also his favorite song.
