Justin Timberlake has praised David Beckham for "singlehandedly" increasing the popularity of soccer in the U.S.

The 'SexyBack' singer - who hosted the ESPY Awards, a sporting event, in Los Angeles last night - repeatedly pointed to David and his wife Victoria, who were sitting in the front row of the Nokia Theatre, and thanked the sportsman for deciding to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The soccer star - who moved to America to play for Los Angeles Galaxy last year after signing a five-year deal worth a reputed $260 million - yearns for roast dinners, a traditional Sunday meal comprised of oven-cooked meat and vegetables.

Golf pro Tiger Woods may soon earn one billion dollars in career earnings, becoming the world's first billionaire to accumulate his fortune by playing sports. According to Forbes magazine, Woods may reach the billion dollar mark by 2010. He is already a millionaire many times over.

The 14-time major championship winner earned 115 million dollars in 2007 alone, according to Forbes. The magazine annually ranks the world's richest people with its Forbes' Celebrity 100 list. Soccer player David Beckham was the No. 2 sportsman on the list with earnings of 65 million dollars.

The Beckhams are set to be immortalized in a song and dance play. A comedy musical based on Victoria and David Beckham is being prepared for the stage.

Entitled "MacBecks," Posh and Becks' story is about to be dramatized in a "wild comedy romp" that will grace Dublin's Olympia theaters next year.
