Soccer star David Beckham says he was "starstruck" when he met musician Stevie Wonder, and tells his wife that he wanted to take a picture with the music great.

The 32-year-old husband of Posh Spice tells BBC Radio that he is also in awe of Nelson Mandela and Muhammad Ali. He says that Wonder's "Superstition" is also his favorite song.

Beckham also says that when he had met the blind singer, "He turned round to me and said, it was quite funny, he said: 'If you could teach me to play football, then you'd be some player.' You know, those sort of moments you cherish.

"It's quite embarrassing because I was like turning round to Victoria and saying: 'I really want a picture but I can't ask him.'"

His wife, Victoria, eventually had to ask for the picture.

"I still get very star struck by many people that we still meet," Beckham says.
