Most celebrities hate getting old but not for actresses Laura Linney and Daryl Hannah who think they are lucky to be able to get past the dreaded age of 40.

43-year-old Linney believes that people need to be realistic and consider fortunate to come up so far.

"It's also about the fact that I think we're lucky we got to be 40. There are so many people out there who die way too young, so all of this, 'Boo-hoo, we're getting older!' I'm like, 'Well, there is an alternative,'" Linney tells the New York Post.

Contrary to common Hollywood sentiment, 47-year-old Hannah says confesses that she hates being young. "I hated being young. Everyone says how wonderful it is to be a young person. That is far from the case for many people, but they dare not say it at the time," the Telegraph quotes Hannah.

"Aging is great. Maturity has brought me peace of mind. When I look back, I could have saved myself so much anxiety.
