Two-time "Dancing With the Stars" champion Cheryl Burke has something new to celebrate. The dancer has opened her own dance studio in San Francisco, called The Cheryl Burke Dance Center.
The 23-year-old dancer told People.com, "San Francisco's my hometown, so I felt like I needed to give back. I want this to be the new, hip place to go for ballroom dancing."
As soon as her run on this season's "Dancing With the Stars" ends, Burke plans on spending all of her time at the dance studio. This season she is paired with Cristian de la Fuente and the two have a good shot of staying in till the end of the competition.
On had to help celebrate the opening of her new dance studio on Friday was not only her current dance partner, but also her former champion partner Drew Lachey and "Dancing" host Tom Bergeron.
Burke and Lachey have had to deny tabloid reports lately that the two had more than a dancing relationship. Lachey, 31, said he has known Burke since the end of 2005 and they have stayed in touch, he has come back to help host the show and they have gone on tour together.
Burke told People.com, "At the end of the day our sport is so close and if you don't have the chemistry on the floor, you're not doing a good job. But someone will always believe that there's something going on behind closed doors when there really isn't. It's our job to be this way, like actors. And I think rumors are rumors, and you have to surround yourself with great people and just keep your head up."
