Matt Damon has a new identity in Hollywood - the industries most bankable star.
The Oscar winning and star of the Jason Bourne franchise has beat the likes of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp to take out the top spot among actors and actresses.
Damon has become the top money earner after a new system was created by Ultimate Star Payback who determined how much a studio earns from a star based on their salary.
According to the list, for every $1 Damon earns, the studio takes in $29. For his "Bourne" films, Damon's pay packet started at $26 million for "The Bourne Identity", which brought in $290 million at the box office and $165 million in video sales.
The most bankable female is not Julia Roberts, who was the first actress to enter the $20 million club, or Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon. Former "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston can currently make the most money, with a $14 million paycheck for "The Break-up" which made $270 million worldwide.
Following Jennifer is rival Angelina Jolie, Renee Zellweger and Witherspoon.
Damon is followed by A-list stars such as Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Vince Vaughn.
Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise doesn't come close to Damon's bankability. Despite his excessive pay packets, Cruise only earns $12 per $1 for studios. Tom Hanks, Will Smith and Adam Sandler are also at the lower end.
Academy Award winner Russell Crowe has had a disappointing few years and is at a low of $5.
Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Kidman, meanwhile, are at the lower end for the girls, bringing in $7 and $8 respectively.
